BOOGIE NIGHTS 2017

I am afraid I have bad news for our members. Through no fault of her own Jo is not available for our planned show week, and unfortunately the Embassy Theatre has been unable to find us another date. As you can appreciate, we cannot perform a show without the producer present, and this has left us with no alternative but to cancel our production of Boogie Nights. This has been a very difficult decision for the committee; we have never found ourselves in this position before and we are working hard to make sure there are alternative opportunities for everyone to perform.
After the success of our concerts at the Richmond School, and at the local WI groups, we are very keen to pursue the idea of performing more concerts, and we are also working on a new production for later in the year. More details will follow as soon as they are finalised.
In the meantime, please come along to the Royal Arthur Hall, Ingoldmells at 7.00 pm on Wednesday 17th January, when we will be working on new concert material. We would love to see old and new faces there – it’s a great opportunity to perform solos, duets, and ensemble pieces from all genres of show – in other words there is something for everyone!

BOOGIE NIGHTS – rehearsals start on 3 January!

It’s time to Boogie!

Rehearsals for Boogie Nights start on Wednesday 3 January, 7.00 pm,  at the Royal Arthur Hall, Ingoldmells.  It’s really important for everyone to be there as we will be singing with our Musical Director, setting harmonies, and running through audition pieces ready for the following week.

Auditions will be held on 10 January, starting at 7.00 pm at the Royal Arthur Hall, Ingoldmells.  If you wish to audition, please get in touch via our facebook page so we can add you to the list.  We will also be publishing the audition pieces soon, so keep checking back for more information.

Jo Fitzwilliams, who produced our last show ‘Whistle Down the Wind’ is once again our producer for the year.  Jo has a lot of experience appearing in shows as a singer and dancer, and has lots of ideas to make ‘Boogie Nights’ fun to appear in as well as to watch.

We are delighted that David Hallgate is to be our Musical Director this year, and we are all looking forward to working with him again.

Our Choreographer is Jade Wattam, assisted by her sister Amber.  Jade is new to our group, but is a very experienced and talented choreographer, and we are excited to have her on our team.

Please come along and meet us on Wednesday 3 January; we are always looking for new members to appear in our shows, as well as back stage crew.
